Cel mai mare impact al Pământului cu un meteorit de la incidentul din Celyabinsk stârneşte atenţia, în ciuda faptului că s-a întâmplat în urmă cu câteva săptămâni, scrie Realitatea.net.
NASA a remarcat impactul unei stânci imense în largul coastelor Braziliei la data de 6 februarie, scrie Descopera. Meteoritul avea un diametru de circa 5-7 metri. Dimensiunile acestui corp ceresc îl fac cel mai mare meteorit după cel care a căzut în oraşul rus Celiabinsk, care a provocat distrugeri şi a rănit sute de oameni.
Meteoritul a fost anunţat de astronomul NASA, Ron Baalke, într-o postare pe Twitter şi apoi analizat de către Bad Astronomer Phil Plait. După cum a fost subliniat, energia eliberată de explozie a fost de echivalentă cu detonarea aproximativ a 13.000 de tone de TNT.
