Şapte ani de închisoare pentru Silvio Berlusconi. Fostul premier italian a fost condamnat de tribunalul de la Milano, după ce a fost găsit vinovat în dosarul RubyGate.
Avocaţii fostului şef al Executivului de la Roma au anunţat că vor ataca decizia într-o instanţă superioară.
"Vom face apel la decizie şi vom merge până la Înalta Curte de Casaţie. Sentinţa depăşeşte logica şi nu a fost luată în conformitate cu dovezile pe care le-am prezentat", a declarat avocatul Niccolo Ghenidi.
Decizia instanţei de judecată a fost, însă, întâmpinată cu bucurie de cetăţeni. "Am încredere în sistemul judiciar. Dacă a fost condamnat, înseamnă că a meritat acest lucru", a spus un cetăţean.
Berlusconi era acuzat că a întreţinut relaţii sexuale cu o minoră şi de abuz de putere. Mai mult, potrivit sentinţei, Il Cavaliere nu poate ocupa funcţii în stat toată viaţa. Potrivit anchetatorilor, femeile invitate la reşedinţa fostului prim-ministru pentru aşa-numitele petreceri "Bunga-bunga" făceau parte dintr-o reţea de prostituţie. Acuzaţiile se concentrează, însă, asupra relaţiei cu tânăra marocană, cunoscută drept Ruby, pe care Berlusconi ar fi plătit-o pentru sex în 2010, când fata avea 17 ani.
