Compania Apple a lansat de curând iPad Air 2 și iPad mini 3, dar şi un iMac nou de la Apple. Noutatea cea mai impresionantă o reprezintă Apple SIM, funcţia care ar putea schimba tot ce înseamnă domeniul telecom, scrie playtech.ro.
Apple SIM este o cartelă de tip SIM, specificată pe pagina dedicată iPad Air 2 și care este independentă de operatorii tradiționali din Statele Unite ale Americii: AT&T, Sprint și T-Mobile. Verizon funcționează pe infrastructură CDMA, care nu utilizează cartele SIM.
Ce înseamnă Apple SIM? Pentru iPad înseamnă mai mult un experiment, dar pentru iPhone ar însemna un pas serios spre independența utilizatorului față de operator. După cum s-a văzut foarte bine anul trecut cu iPhone 5s lansat în rețeaua China Mobile, și după cum e cazul în fiecare an în SUA, telefoanele încă sunt dependente de operatori într-o proporție destul de mare. Trecerea de la un operator la altul nu se face atât de ușor, dar prin Apple SIM s-ar putea schimba lucrurile.
Odată cu acest pas făcut de Apple, operatorii ar putea ajunge să concureze cu adevărat pentru clienți din moment ce ei nu ar mai fi atât de legați de compania respectivă. Mai mult, Apple ar putea deveni operator virtual prin care intermediezi contractarea de servicii pentru tine.
De ce ar avea succes Apple SIM? O mișcare similară era așteptată de la Google, când a lansat programul Nexus și Android a început să își crească prezența pe piață, dar nu s-a întâmplat. Totuși, realitatea e că iPhone și iPad încă sunt dispozitivele foarte bine vândute, iar Apple are astfel o poziție foarte bună pentru negociere cu operatorii.
