Poliţiştii din Moldova acceptă mita mai rar şi raportează mai des despre tentativele de corupere. Potrivit datelor Inspectoratului General al Poliţiei, de la începutul acestui an, numărul cazurilor de corupție printre reprezentanţii forţelor de ordine s-a micşorat cu 24 la sută, comparativ cu aceeaşi perioadă a anului trecut.
Datele IGP arată că de la începutul acestui an 40 de poliţişti au fost reţinuţi pentru luare de mită. Numărul este cu 15 mai puţin faţă de aceeaşi perioadă a anului trecut. Totodată, 34 de inspectori au refuzat să ia şpagă şi au raportat anchetatorilor despre tentativele de corupere.
"Noi desfășurăm măsuri preventive împreună cu Centrul Național Anticorupție. Polițiştii au devenit conștienți de faptul că este necesar să refuze mita și să îşi îndeplinească în mod adecvat datoria", a declarat șeful interimar al Inspectoratului General al Poliţiei, Gheorghe Cavcaliuc.
Cea mai mare sumă pe care a refuzat-o un poliţist a fost de 80.000 de lei. Mita era propusă de un contrabandist.
"În ultimii ani, am act de faptul că Ministerul de Interne ia măsuri pentru a curăța personalul lipsit de scrupule. Dar de multe ori cetățenii oferă mită în scopul de a-şi rezolva problemele", a spus expertul Transparency International Moldova, Ianina Spinei.
Oamenii au păreri împărţite referitor la problema corupţiei în rândul poliţiştilor.
Centrul Naţional Anticorupţie a anunţat că, de la începutul anului, 60 de angajaţi ai forţelor de ordine au fost reţinuţi pentru corupţie.
În unul dintre cele mai recente cazuri a fost reţinut un poliţist de la Inspectoratul sectorului Râşcani, care ar fi cerut 1.500 euro pentru a nu intentat un dosar penal.
